Energy Atlas in Korean 2022

Facts about EU's Energy Policy

The European Energy Atlas has been published at a time when EU Member States are discussing their energy and climate strategies up to 2030, the so-called Clean Energy Package. These objectives and regulations will shape Europe’s energy and climate policy for the coming decades. They will determine whether to act effectively against climate change and limit global warming to 2 degrees Celsius.

But will the measures currently being negotiated in Europe be enough to achieve this? While the Clean Energy Package sets some important signals for the further development of the European energy transition, the real potential of energy efficiency and renewable energy is not fully exploited. The targets presented are not ambitious enough and threaten the energy successes of the past years. The energy transition is progressing differently across EU Member States. What is clear, however, is that success can only be achieved if the various national energy transitions form part of an ambitious joint European project!

The European Energy Atlas presents a clear alternative. It not only provides a compass for the various energy discussions in the different Member States, but also shows that the Europeanization of the energy transition will be a more efficient and cost-effective option for all Europeans.

This Korean translation is based on the 2018 German edition.
